How to apply for 10th Equivalency Certificate ?

Equivalency certificate(Thulyatha) is a recognition certificate issued by an authority concerned of the exam in the state to a student. It is necessary for the students who have passed the course in one state but would like to apply for higher studies in other states. 
 
The students who have passed the 10th(SSLC) course in other states like Karnataka,Andhra and such are eligible to apply for admission in the Higher Secondary course in Kerala state through Single Window Admission system. But it is mandatory that they must get the equivalency certificate from the state stating that his or her qualification is equivalent to that of the Kerala state board.

How to Apply 10th Equivalency Certificate ?

The students who are in need of equivalency certificate should write an application stating their need or reason. It should be accompanied with the copy of mark list attested by a gazetted officer and a Demand Draft(DD) for Rs 500 in the name of The Director, State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT), Poojappura P.O, Thiruvananthapuram Kerala, PIN: 695 012 from a Nationalised Bank. 
 
In the case of students belonging to SC, ST or BPL category, the copy of their caste certificate or the copy of ration card respectively, should be attached. Such students need pay only Rs.250 towards equivalency certificate fee. 
 
The application along with the necessary documents be submitted in person or by post to The Director, SCERT, Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram. After verification, the certificate will be sanctioned and issued by the Pareeksha Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram to the student.
